NIFA Board Member Kicks Off Chamber Luncheon Series

NIFA board member Christopher Wright will serve as the keynote speaker.

Christopher P. Wright, a Nassau County Interim Finance Authority board member, will serve as keynote speaker at the Garden City Chamber of Commerce’s 2014 kick-off luncheon program Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 11:30 a.m. at the Garden City Hotel.

Wright will discuss the history of the Nassau County Interim Finance Authority, its initiation of the 2011 control period and interaction with Nassau County and the state of New York.

Wright has been a member of the NIFA board since 2007, having been originally appointed by Gov. Eliot Spitzer on the recommendation of Comptroller Tom DiNapoli.

Professionally, Wright is the regional managing director for Protiviti’s Eastern United States region. He has over 25 years experience as an external auditor, including six years as a partner at two global accounting firms – Arthur Anderson and KPMG. Protiviti is a global business consulting and internal audit firm composed of experts specializing in risk advisory and transaction services solving problems in finance and transactions operations, technology litigation governance risk and compliance, according to a chamber announcement.

Wright also serves on the boards of several charitable, civic, educational and business organizations. Locally he was the volunteer treasurer of the Cathedral of the Incarnation during its bankruptcy proceedings from 1993 to 2001, which included the sale and redevelopment of St. Mary’s School. Currently he is a member of the Standing Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island.

This kick-off luncheon program will also include the traditional showcase of various chamber member businesses to begin at 11:30 a.m. and continue throughout the reception/networking period. Lunch will be served promptly at 12:30 p.m.
