The Andy Foundation's Breezy Build

The Andy Foundation has begun a new and exciting project:  the rebuilding of a home in Breezy Point, New York.   Breezy Point is a close-knit community of hard working families that was devastated by Superstorm Sandy, and we knew we had to help make a difference in the recovery.  Local contractor and long-time Andy Foundation supporter, Jeremy Cotty of Homecraft Contracting Corp., was eager to join the cause.

After much research, The Andy Foundation decided to support a family who had lost the use of their home, and much of their belongings, to Sandy.  The young father of four was heralded for heroic acts, saving neighbors and friends the night of the storm, and the family was known for their selflessness in helping others while never asking for help themselves.

To date, the house has been gutted to the studs, and plumbing and electrical are currently being installed.  We will keep everyone updated on the project progress and look forward to getting this deserving family back into their home!

Mark your calendars!  On Wednesday, April 24th from 5pm-7pm The Andy Foundation Takes Over…B.K. Sweeney’s Uptown Grille. Admission is free and all proceeds from this event will benefit the Little Village School.   And this Spring commemorates a special event for many of our supporters, volunteers and friends:  The Andy Foundation’s 10th Annual Yard Sale will be held on May 11th at St. Paul’s.

The Andy Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to making a meaningful, positive impact on the lives of children in need. We invite you to visit our High Top Shop at 671 Franklin Avenue to hear more about our upcoming projects and to get a progress update on our build.
