A Hicksville man attempting to cross Stewart Avenue was fatally struck by a car Monday night.
According to Nassau County detectives, Justin Pistoia, 24, of Hicksville
was near Endo Boulevard when he was walking across Stewart Avenue in East Garden City. A
female driver, 67, in a 2012 Ford sedan allegedly struck the victim
around 7:48 p.m.

Nassau County Police Ambulance transported
Pistoia, who suffered internal injuries, to a nearby hospital where he
was pronounced dead at 10:54 p.m.
No other
injuries were reported.
Detectives report no apparent criminality at
this time. The Highway Bureau responded to the scene and performed a
brake and safety inspection.
