Belmont Festival to Once Again Feature Children's Poster Contest

Village young aspiring artists: time to get your paintbrushes, markers and art supplies ready; the Sixth Annual Belmont Stakes Festival Children's Poster Contest is right around the corner!

This year's Garden City , Friday June 8, will once again feature the popular children's poster contest sponsored by .

The sixth annual poster design challenge will invite Garden City kids in grades K-6 to create their best interpretation of thoroughbred racing on 16 inches by 20 inches white poster paper. No pastels please.

All submitted artwork will be on display in shop windows along festival areas of Seventh Street and Franklin Ave.

Winners will be awarded cash prizes and be presented the awards onstage by the mayor Friday evening at the Festival. Winners artwork will then be publicly displayed at Village Hall the entire month!

Poster designs will be accepted at Sunflower Art & Framing until final deadline at 5 p.m., Saturday May 26.

Locations of each poster will be posted on sunflowerfineart.com June 6. The first, second and third place winners of the contest will be announced on sunflowerfineart.com June 6.
