Crime Blotter: Wires Cut, Rear Door of Gallery Pizza Pried Open

The suspects apparently fled the area upon activation of the alarm, according to police.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Garden City police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Sept. 18: The Garden City Police Department assisted Nassau County Detectives in locating a youth reported missing from Suffolk County.

Sept. 20: A male 53-year-old from Medford was arrested for the theft from two lockers at the NY Sports Club on Sept. 17. A remote removed from one of the lockers was used to steal a vehicle parked behind the club. Garden City detectives determined that there were other similar thefts at other NY Sports Clubs in
Nassau County. Upon further investigation by Nassau County and Garden City detectives, the identity of the subject was determined and all of the clubs were notified. When the subject appeared at the Hicksville Club, workers recognized the subject and immediately called the 2 nd Precinct. Officers responded to the club and arrested the subject.

Sept. 20: Police officers and Special Police officers assisted with parking and pedestrian issues during the senior health fair conducted at the St. Paul’s Field House.

Sept. 20: The department is investigating a two-vehicle property damage auto accident on County Seat Drive where one of the operators left the area without exchanging information with the other operator.

Sept. 21: The department is investigating a two-vehicle property damage auto accident on Franklin Avenue where one of the operators left the area without exchanging information with the other operator.

Sept. 22: The rear window to a vehicle parked at a Rockaway Avenue residence was found damaged.

Sept. 23: A window to a Meadow Street residence was damaged by a rock being thrown at it.

Sept. 23: Officers responded to a traffic signal light malfunction on Old Country Road.

Sept. 24: Officers responded to Gallery Pizza  on New Hyde Park Road for an alarm. Upon arrival, officers observed wires to the rear of the building cut and a rear door pried open. The suspects apparently fled the area upon activation of the alarm.

Sept. 24: Officer Milito arrested a female 46-year-old from Valley Stream for the theft of three dresses, totaling more than $250, from Lord & Taylor.

Sept. 25: Police conducted a commercial vehicle inspection on New Hyde Park Road where officers inspected 15 vehicles, placed seven out of service, cited two for a loose, unsafe load and issued 68 tickets for various safety and traffic violations.

Sept. 25: A male 48-year-old from Hempstead was arrested for the theft of more than $800 in assorted merchandise in Lord & Taylor.

Sept. 25: Laptop computers were stolen from two unlocked dorm rooms at Adelphi University.

Sept. 25: A cell phone was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on Seventh Street.
