Adelphi University student Meghan McQuillan is hoping to take part in a community service trip to Guatemala in March where students will be working with "Techos Para Mis Pais" painting houses for community members as well as working with the FUNDABIEM Company to provide physical therapy and working with the children.
"This experience will enhance my education by allowing me to see the world and assist me as I consider a career in nursing," McQuillan said.
A fundraising campaign has been created on www.gofundme.com to help McQuillan pay for the trip.
Four people have raised $235 in 11 days. The goal is $1,800.
