Vacant in Garden City: Almaviva Apartments Filling Up

Half of the apartments at the corner of Seventh Street and Franklin Avenue have been rented, according to John Wilton, chair of the village's Merchants Committee.

The Almaviva, as its called, offers one- and two-bedroom units with a washer/dryer in each, hardwood floors, granite countertops and GE stainless appliances. Most of the apartments have terraces. All units come with a parking space and personal storage space.

The apartments are renting from $2,850 to $3,900 for a two-bedroom on the top floor, according to Prudential Douglas Elliman.

The property owner, Domus Green, converted the former gas station at 191 Seventh Street into a mixed-use property that will also offer retail on the ground level.

Patch has learned that Domus Green is looking for "dry retail" to occupy the ground floor though no specific merchants have been announced.
