Long Island Volunteer Center Receives Grant from McCormick Foundation for Sandy Relief Efforts

At the December 18, 2012 Hurricane Sandy LI Disaster Relief luncheon, The Long Island Volunteer Center received a $50,000 grant from the McCormick Foundation.  The funds will be used to support the Long Island Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (LIVOAD) Volunteer Recovery Center in Bethpage. Garden City resident Diana O’Neill is the Executive Director of The Long Island Volunteer Center.  
The Volunteer Recovery Center provides logistical support and coordination for disaster volunteer groups providing Super Storm Sandy recovery efforts on Long Island.
