September is Life Insurance Awareness Month

The nonprofit LIFE foundation coordinates Life Insurance Awareness Month every September.  The LIFE foundation provides objective information about life insurance.  This year's celebrity spokesperson is Long Island native and resident, Boomer Esiason.  The former NFL quarterback turned NFL analyst and morning talk show host was young when his mother passed away.  Boomer speaks about his experience to help raise awareness of a growing problem.

There is a growing crisis of too many Americans not having adequate life insurance protection.  According to surveys done by Life Insurance Marketing Research Association (LIMRA), 30% of U.S. households have no life insurance whatsoever.  There are many benefits to having life insurance financial protection for your family and loved ones.

Boomer Esiason’s mother passed away from cancer when he was 7 years old.  She was a stay at home mom – who took care of everything in the house while Boomer’s father commuted into Manhattan to earn the family’s only income.  Since Boomer’s mother did not have life insurance, his father worked extra hard to support Boomer and his two sisters.  Raising three children alone, and commuting into Manhattan from Long Island was not easy.
