Crime Blotter: Police Bust 16-Year-Old With Pot, Transport Another to Hospital for Alcohol Overdose

The following arrest information was supplied by the Garden City Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

May 31: Officers are investigating a criminal mischief complaint where eggs were thrown at the siding of a Kilburn Road residence and two cars parked in the driveway causing minor damage.

June 1: A flower rack and a flat of flowers were found damaged on the grounds of the Garden City Nursery School on Cherry Valley Avenue.

June 2: Police report a domestic incident in which a female 16-year-old was arrested for criminal mischief and harassment. She broke her sister’s cell phone and threw a picture frame at her sister causing a chest abrasion.

June 2: Upon an investigation, Garden City detectives arrested a male 17-year-old from Garden City for marijuana possession.

June 3: A 16-year-old youth was transported to Winthrop Hospital for an alcohol overdose.

June 3: Garden City detectives arrested a male 46-year-old from Mineola for leaving the scene of a property damage auto accident with another vehicle that occurred on Old Country Road and County Seat Drive on June 2.

June 3: As a result of an investigation, Garden City detectives arrested a male 47-year-old from Hempstead for burglary that occurred on May 25 when he unlawfully entered a Franklin Avenue business office and stole a computer valued at $2,500.

June 3: Someone opened a desk drawer in a Franklin Avenue medical office and removed $60 from a purse.

June 3: Detectives are investigating a report of a burglary at a Poplar Street residence where a window screen was found pushed in. Proceeds: A Wii Console valued at $300.

June 4: After breaking the left front window, someone entered an auto parked at a Third Street residence and removed an iPod and a camera (total value: $550).

June 4: Upon conducting an investigation in Parking Field 2S, Garden City detectives arrested a male 29-year-old from Hempstead for an outstanding Nassau County traffic warrant.

June 5: Officers responded to Lord & Taylor where security reported that two subjects had just stolen merchandise valued at $145 from the store and fled in a maroon auto. Officer Laurita observed the vehicle on Franklin Avenue where he made the stop and both subjects were positively identified by security. Both subjects, a male 31-year-old from Brooklyn and a male 31-year-old from Pennsylvania, were placed under arrest for larceny.
 
June 6: Detective Barone has been conducting an ongoing investigation in regards to two individuals who committed a burglary at a Hilton Avenue residence in March. He had previously arrested a male 23-year-old from Freeport on April 29. Through his investigation, he developed the identity of the second subject, a male 37-year-old from Jamaica, Queens. He then determined that he was being arraigned on an unrelated charge on this date at Queens Criminal Court. Detective Barone responded to the court and placed the subject under arrest for burglary.

June 7: Officers assisted the Garden City Fire Department with a car fire on Nassau Boulevard.
 
June 8: Garden City officers assisted Nassau County court officers with a multi-agency disaster drill conducted at the Supreme Court and County Court complexes.
