Crime Blotter: Falsified Business Records, Suspicious Person
A look at this week's alleged crimes, reported by the Garden City Police Department.
Aug. 21: A locked bicycle was stolen from the south side of the Nassau Boulevard railroad station.
Aug. 22: Officer McCarthy arrested a male 42-year-old from Roosevelt for the theft of four watches from Sears. The subject had fled the scene but was located in a nearby building. He was also charged with two outstanding Nassau County larceny warrants.
Aug. 23: An iPad was reported lost or stolen from the laundry room of a Second Street Apartment Building.

Aug. 23: Officer Sansone observed a vehicle northbound on Clinton Road in the vicinity of Commercial Avenue with a defective brake light and license plates belonging to another vehicle. The vehicle was stopped and the driver, a male 48-year-old from Huntington Station, was cited for driving with a suspended registration, unregistered auto, uninsured auto, switched plates, tinted windows and the defective brake light.
Aug. 26: Officers responded to a railroad gate malfunction at the Franklin Avenue crossing.

Aug. 26: A wallet containing cash and personal papers was stolen from a Franklin Avenue office.
Aug. 26: Detectives arrested a male 31-year-old from Queens for grand larceny and falsifying business records. As an employee of a Franklin Avenue business, the subject submitted several false time sheets over a two-month period, resulting in him being paid more than $16,700 for hours not worked.
Aug. 27: Officer Byrd conducted a suspicious person investigation on Lefferts Road and Bluebell Court at 2:45 a.m., resulting in the arrest of a male 21-year-old from Hempstead for an outstanding Nassau County menacing warrant.
Aug. 27: Loose money was removed from a vehicle parked at a Tremont Street residence.
Aug. 27: An iPod and sunglasses were stolen from a vehicle parked at a Willow Street.
Aug. 27: Officers responded to Clinch Avenue for a fallen tree.
