Police responded to the following calls between April 15-20.

April 15: Officer Oswald arrested a male 30-year-old from Mineola for DWI (.09 percent Blood Alcohol Content), unsafe lane change and driving in a no passing zone on Franklin Ave at 4:05 a.m.

April 16: Officer Touhy arrested a male 52-year-old from Pennsylvania for shoplifting two pairs of jeans valued at $193 at Lord & Taylor.

April 16: Police report that a bankcard was removed from a gym bag at the Adelphi University gymnasium and was subsequently used at a nearby business. The investigation is continuing.

April 16: Police conducted a routine truck stop on New Hyde Park Road, inspecting eight trucks, placing six out of service and issuing 49 traffic tickets, including three for hazardous materials violations and five for weight violations.

April 16: Officer Wehr arrested a female 19-year-old from Roosevelt at the Garden City Hotel for assault. She was working as a food server when she placed hot tongs to the chest area of a 13-year-old who was attending a party there causing a burn.

April 17: The department is investigating a burglary at a Franklin Avenue business. A security officer found a rear door propped open with a candy bar. Five laptop computers were removed from the business. Officers responded to the area and upon investigation located the computers along with a chisel in the vicinity of the rear door. The investigation is continuing.

April 17: Officer Reilly arrested a female 33-year-old and a female 23-year-old, both from Jamaica, for shoplifting more than $750 in women's apparel. Upon an investigation, both subjects were charged with endangering the welfare of a minor for allowing the 10-year-old daughter of one of the suspects to aid them in the theft.

April 17: Officers issued an appearance ticket to a female 16-year-old at her for a disorderly party at her Magnolia Street residence.

April 20: Garden City detectives arrested a male 23-year-old from Floral Park on Westminster Road for the possession of an alleged marijuana cigarette and four small bags of marijuana.

April 20: Upon an investigation, Garden City detectives arrested a male 40-year-old from Hampton Bays for the larceny of scrap metal from the driveway of a Prescott Street residence. The incident occurred April 19 where an alert witness in the area observed the larceny and copied down the plate number of the suspect vehicle as it was leaving the scene.

April 20: Unknown persons damaged the passenger side window to a 2008 Infiniti overnight in the driveway of an 11th Street residence.
