Garden City police responded to the following calls between May 4-10.

May 4: At approximately 1:45 a.m. unknown persons entered Neptune Photo on Seventh Street by prying open the rear door and removed approximately $20,000 worth of merchandise from within. The investigation continues. (This store was also burglarized on Dec. 24 at 3:55 a.m. Unknown subjects entered the store by prying open a rear door and stealing more than $12,000 worth of cameras.)

May 6: After an investigation by Police Officer Buonaiuto and Garden City detectives, a male 16-year-old from Garden City was arrested for falsely reporting an incident by pulling a fire alarm the day before at the Garden City High School causing an evacuation.

May 6: Someone stole a Diamond Back bicycle that was locked to a bike rack on the south side of the Nassau Boulevard train station.

May 7: Someone painted graffiti on an outside wall to a Railroad Avenue business.

May 7: During the overnight hours, someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked at a Brompton Road residence and removed a Garmin GPS and a Samsung cell phone (value: $825).

May 8: The police department is investigating the theft of license plates from two vehicles that were parked in an Avalon Road driveway.

May 8: Officers responded to numerous power outages, wire down calls, fallen tree calls and house alarms due to the severe wind storm.

May 9: At 3 a.m., Police Officer Oswald observed a male 32-year-old from Westbury northbound on Clinton Road when he swerved over the double yellow lines almost striking a vehicle that was traveling south on Clinton Road. He was arrested and charged with DWI (.14 percent Blood Alcohol Content),  unsafe lane change and failure to signal lane change.

May 10: At about 8:15 a.m. Stratford School crossing guard Susan Eigl reported that she had just observed a vehicle pass a Stop sign on Stratford Avenue, where there is a school crossing for students. Officers responded to the area, located the vehicle and it was determined that the operator, a male 75-year-old from Garden City, was driving with a suspended license. The operator was given tickets for passing the Stop sign and driving with a suspended license.

May 10: Someone removed a directional lens from a vehicle that was parked in a Willow Street driveway (value: $50).
