Macy's Evacuated After Electrical Fire

No injuries were reported, police said.

Macy's in Roosevelt Field had to be evacuated Sunday morning after an electrical fire caused smoke to build up in the store.

According to Nassau County detectives, around 11:45 a.m., the Westbury Fire Department responded to a call for a fire alarm at Macy's. Upon arrival it was determined there was an electrical fire that caused a smoke condition in the store.

The store was evacuated and the fire was extinguished, police said. No injuries were reported.

The fire department responded with approximately 50 firefighters and six trucks.
