Shed the Meds in Garden City

Police department accepts all unwanted and outdated prescription medications from the public on a daily basis.

Garden City Police Commissioner Ernest Cipullo reminds residents that the department accepts all unwanted and outdated prescription medications from the public on a daily basis.

Throwing out medication improperly, such as flushing them in the toilet or pouring them down the drain, can cause pollution in local waterways and in drinking water. Safe disposal helps protect the environment and keeps medications out of the hands of young children or others who would use them improperly.

Anyone wishing to discard their prescription medications may do so by bringing them to the front desk at Garden City Police Headquarters, 349 Stewart Avenue, at any date and time.
