A look at the Nassau County lawmaker running for the 4th Congressional District.

Name: Francis Becker

Hometown: Lynbrook

Party: Republican

Bio: Since 1996, Becker has represented Nassau County's 6th Legislative District, which includes Lynbrook, Malverne, North Lynbrook, most of Valley Stream and East Rockaway, south Rockville Centre and portions of North Valley Stream and Oceanside.

Becker, who considers himself a "fiscal conservative," is a Certified Financial Planner and president of Becker & Associates Planning Services. He's been married to his wife, Clementine, for nearly four decades, and is both a father and grandfather. He's also held leadership roles with the New York #1 Elks Lodge, served as a former Lynbrook Titans coach, and is a member of the Holy Name Society, the Mom and Dads Club of Lynbrook High School, the Knights of Columbus and other community organizations.

When Becker first ran for the 4th Congressional seat in 2010, he failed to unseat incumbent Carolyn McCarthy, but vows to accomplish this in the 2012 election.

Becker is a graduate of Lynbrook High School, Nassau Community College and Hofstra University, where he studied Business Finance.

District: The 4th Congressional District includes Baldwin, East Meadow, East Rockaway, Elmont, the Five Towns, Lynbrook, Floral Park, Franklin Square, Garden City, Hempstead, Malverne, Mineola, Carle Place, New Hyde Park, Oceanside, Rockville Centre, Roosevelt, Uniondale, Valley Stream, West Hempstead, Bellmore, Merrick, Long Beach and Westbury.
