Adelphi Profressor Dr. Albert Renken Dies

Funeral mass will be Saturday for former Adelphi adjunct professor and high school principal.

Dr. Albert Renken, the former principal at W.T. Clarke High School, Freeport High School and an adjunct professor at Adelphi University, died on Wednesday, according to Newsday.

Renken, of Freeport, is survived by his wife, Rosine, his children Robert, Cheryl Dorfman and Bruce, as well as nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

His reposing was held at Hungerford & Clark Inc. Funeral Home in Freeport Friday. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday at Our Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church. The burial will follow at St. Charles Cementary in Farmingdale.

"My condolences to the Renken family," Ellen Delisio, a 1978 Clarke grad, wrote on Newsday's guest book. "Dr. Renken devoted his life to education and touched the lives of many students."

East Meadow School District officials did not immediately return calls for comment on Renken's passing.
