Two High School Students Named National Merit Scholarship Finalists

Congratulations to Garden City’s 2013 National Merit Scholarship semifinalists for recently being elevated to “Finalist” status: Jacquelyn N. Seskin and Neil T. Quigley.

With the addition of Jackie and Neil, Garden City High School has had 17 finalists and 40 Commended Students named in the highly competitive program since the 2009 school year.

The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships. High school students enter the National Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) – a test that serves as an initial screen of more than 1.5 million entrants each year.
