VIDEO: Garden City's James Wright to Play in Empire Challenge Football Game

Will represent Long Island in annual all-star event.

Garden City's James Wright will play in the annual Empire Challenge all-star football game Tuesday at Hofstra University.

Wright, who will play right tackle in the game, will represent Long Island on the gridiron one last time as they look to beat the New York City team in the game meant to raise awareness for cystic fibrosis and youth football for the Boomer Esiason Foundation.

Wright will play college football at SUNY Cortland along with a handful of his Long Island teammates.

There have been 17 other players from Garden City who have been selected to the game since its inception 16 years ago.

The Long Island team has been holding its practices at Sachem High School North.
