Words, words, words, I've always loved words! As Theodore Dreiser, one of my favorite authors expressed, "Words are but the vague shadows of the volumes we mean. Little audible links, they are, chaining together great inaudible feelings and purposes." My love of words has influenced my career. I'm currently a freelance writer with a background in direct marketing. I've lived in Garden City for nine years and have been raising my family and pursuing a freelance writing career. My business experience includes working as a marketing manager for a major airline and account management work for Wunderman Cato Johnson, a subsidiary of Young & Rubicam. I have a BA in English from Fordham University. As an active member of the community, I have served on numerous PTA committees. Most notably, editor of the Garden City PTA Bulletin. I am currently running the School Supplies program, a one stop online source for school supplies. I've also worked as a writer for the Garden City Historical Society. My work has appeared in local newspapers such as the Garden City News, Garden City Life and local newspapers in Brooklyn.
You might be tempted to call me a "soccer Mom" but I think that means you have to actually follow the game. Anyone who knows me knows that I don't really watch but play "catch up and chat on the sidelines" which leads me back to my writing career and love of words. I also love reading and I generally enjoy people except for impatient drivers and people who take themselves too seriously.  Patch is an exciting new venture and to get to the heart of the town, I plan on introducing you to the soul of the town. There are some pretty amazing people who are a part of this town. From the ordinary to the extraordinary...I plan on telling their stories.   I live in town with my husband, Peter, two children, Alena and Peter, and our assortment of pets. There's our indoor cat, Dobby, named after the elf from Harry Potter. Then there's our lab mix, Harry (my son loves Harry Potter) and a stray cat named Penny who lives on my porch. Her name celebrates the German proverb, "A bad penny always comes back." She's like my conscience peering at me with pleading eyes, "Do the right thing!" as if Catholic school didn't do enough of that already! But that's another story...
