Garden City Fire Department Fire Prevention Day & Open House

The Garden City Fire Department has announced it will be holding its Annual Fire Prevention Day and Open House.

The popular event is held each year in conjunction with National Fire Prevention Week. This year's National theme is "Smoke Alarms: A Sound You Can Live With!" The Open House has something for everyone in the family.  The event will include full dress inspection of the fire department by Village officials, followed by an afternoon of firefighting and fire safety demonstrations.

According to this year's event coordinator, Assistant Chief Joseph Nadolny, "fire safety is for the whole family and for all ages, we invite our village residents to come down and have an enjoyable afternoon with us."

Those attending this event will receive free giveaways, brochures, balloons, plastic fire helmets for the kids, and, of course, complimentary refreshments for all! The fire department cordially invites all residents, their friends and families to enjoy the afternoon with them. As always, any resident interested in volunteering in the department can visit.
